NIHR Commissioners Bureau Convenes its 14th Regular Meeting

Eng. Ali Ahmed Al-Derazi, Chairman of the National Institution for Human Rights (NIHR), has presided the 14^th meeting of the NIHR Council of Commissioners in the presence of MRs. Rawda Salman Al-Aradi, Chairman of the NIHR Committee on Complaints, Monitoring and Follow-up, and D. Fawzeya Al-Saleh, Chairman of the NIHR Committee on Public Rights and Freedoms.

During the meeting, Al-Derazi reviewed what was done regarding the NIHR’s inauguration of the position of the Commissioner for Child Rights, and stated the importance of this role in supporting and promoting the best interests of the child and protecting child’s rights. The Board office also discussed the mechanism for future work in this regard.

The Council office also discussed what was done regarding the preparation of the international conference that the NIHR will organise on the right to a clean and sustainable environment, in the first half of next September, which will focus on the human right to live in a healthy environment, as this event will spread environmental culture and raise the level of awareness at the local and regional level on the risks threatening the environment and how to preserve it.
