Meeting

Chaired by Eng. Ali Ahmed Alderazi, Chairperson of the National Institution for Human Rights (NIHR), the Bureau of the Council of Commissioners held its sixth regular meeting, with the participation of the NIHR Vice Chairperson and the chairs of the permanent committees, and in the presence of the Secretary-General.

At the outset of the meeting, the Bureau discussed and approved its plan for the next four months, which includes organising a series of workshops and events for civil society organisations that are members of the joint working groups with NIHR. This comes within the framework of strengthening partnership and cooperation with civil society organisations and enhancing the role of the working groups in supporting joint human rights efforts and expanding areas of cooperation and coordination during the coming period.

At the conclusion of the meeting, the Bureau of the Council of Commissioners approved a number of operational and executive decisions aimed at developing working mechanisms, improving performance, and enhancing institutional efficiency, thereby contributing to the achievement of NIHR’s objectives and mandate.
