Meeting

Office of the NIHR Council of Commissioners convened its tenth meeting under Chairpersonship of NIHR's Chairperson. The meeting was attended by all members. The initial draft of the NIHR's comments on the working group on the comprehensive periodic review of Kingdom of Bahrain in preparation for writing the parallel report of the National Institution to be submitted in middle of this year in prior to the commencement of the 3rd round of the mechanism for the comprehensive periodic review early 2017.

In addition, the office discussed the visions of the National Institution on Law No. (1) of 2008 on Combating Trafficking in Persons, and the Secretariat-General was assigned the task of providing some related information before submittal to the official authorities. Moreover, the NIHR preparations for the discussion of the accreditation application by the Subcommittee on Accreditation at the International Coordination Committee during the committee's meeting in next May were followed up.

Furthermore, the office discussed the proposals on amending the statute of International Coordination Committee (ICC) at the request submitted by the Arab Network of National Institutions for Human Rights and it was agreed upon forming sub-committee to examine such proposals and prepare the final opinion of NIHR.
