General Rights and Freedoms Committee Holds Its Tenth Meeting

The General Rights and Freedoms Committee of the National Institution for Human Rights (NIHR) held its tenth meeting, chaired by Mohammed Juma Fuzai. The Committee discussed a number of items on its agenda as part of the Institution’s ongoing efforts to promote and protect human rights.

The Committee reviewed ways to strengthen cooperation with relevant entities and further develop frameworks for joint action, contributing to the implementation of programs and initiatives that support the Institution’s human rights objectives.

At the conclusion of the meeting, the Committee discussed a number of human rights views and contributions prepared by the Institution as part of its engagement with international human rights mechanisms. These included matters related to the right to education and the realization of economic, social and cultural rights. The Committee provided its observations in preparation for completing the relevant procedures.
