NIHR’s Committee on Public Rights and Freedoms Convenes its 29th Regular Meeting

Under the chairpersonship of Dr. Bader Mohamed Adel, in the presence of Mr. Daniel Cohen, the National Institution for Human Rights (NIHR)’s Committee on Public Rights and Freedoms has convened its 29th regular meeting at the NIHR headquarters in Seef district.
The Committee has opened its agenda by reviewing a draft law received from the House of Representatives requesting NIHR's opinion on amending some provisions of the Bahraini Nationality Law of 1963, in order to ensure the protection of the right to citizenship.
On the other hand, the Committee discussed a proposal to hold a workshop targeting civil society institutions operating in the field of human rights, to introduce the Paris Principles that regulate and direct the work of national human rights institutions in the world, and the mechanism of the work of the NIHR, stating its competencies and its role in protecting and promoting human rights in the Kingdom of Bahrain.
