The NIHR’s Committee on Public Rights and Freedoms holds its nineteenth meeting

Dr. Fawzia Saeed Al-Saleh chaired the nineteenth meeting of the Committee on Public Rights and Freedoms in the presence of Committee members Dr. Badr Muhammad Adel and Mr. Daniel Mark Cohen. The meeting was held at the Headquarters of the National Institution for Human Rights in the Seef district.
During the meeting, the Committee discussed a number of proposals related to holding events, training programs, seminars and round tables during the next year, which focused on protecting the right to the environment and protecting environmental defenders through the new environmental law, as the committee aims to activate partnership with both international non-
governmental organizations and the United Nations The United Nations and the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) through their participation in the proposed activities.
The Committee also discussed the NIHR’s organization of an introductory lecture on restorative justice for children for civil society institutions, in addition to organizing a symposium civil society institution on the extent to which the Penal Code and Alternative Measures apply to female, with the aim of raising societal awareness about human rights and deepening practical knowledge of these two specific laws on local and regional levels.
