NIHR’s Committee on Public Rights and Freedoms Convenes its 31st Regular Meeting

Under the chairpersonship of Dr. Fawzeya Saeed Al-Saleh and membership of Dr. Bader Mohamed Adel and Mr. Daniel Cohen, the National Institution for Human Rights (NIHR)’s Committee on Public Rights and Freedoms has convened its 31st regular meeting at the NIHR’s Headquarters in the Seef District.
The Committee opened its agenda by reviewing all its previous resolutions and recommendations and discussing the actions taken thereupon. It also studied a number of requests for opinion received by the NIHR from legislative authorities in the Kingdom of Bahrain regarding an amended version of a draft law adding a new article related to the Penal Code promulgated by the Decree Law No. (15) of 1976.
On the other hand, a proposal was made to coordinate a number of educational events and lectures that will target foreign school students with the aim of introducing the NIHR, its competencies and its role in the field of protecting and promoting human rights in the Kingdom of Bahrain.
