Led by Dr. Fawzia Saeed Al-Saleh, with Dr. Bader Mohammed Adel and Mr. Daniel as members, the Public Rights and Freedoms Committee convened its thirty-third session at the National Institution for Human Rights headquarters in the Seef District.

At the outset, the committee deliberated on the outcomes of its meeting with Counselor Philip Wardle, Director of Legal Affairs and Public Policy at the Asia Pacific Forum (APF), a regional network supporting national human rights institutions, of which the Institution is a member. Counselor Wardle visited the Institution to activate support mechanisms provided by the Forum to help national institutions fulfill their mandates and objectives.

Furthermore, the committee examined plans for upcoming events. Particularly, the proposal to organize a national conference on human rights and business in collaboration with the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) was thoroughly discussed, and appropriate decisions were made in this regard. Additionally, committee members were consulted on envisaged strategies to foster collaboration with civil society entities, especially those advocating for women's and children's rights. Recognizing the pivotal role these groups play in societal development, the committee underscored the importance of prioritizing issues concerning women and children's rights.

The committee, has also reviewed actions taken concerning previous decisions and recommendations.
