NIHR’s Committee on Public Rights and Freedoms Convenes its 25th Regular Meeting

Under the chairpersonship of Dr. Fawzeya Saeed Al-Saleh, and membership of Dr. Bader Mohamed Adel and Mr. Daniel Cohen, the National Institution for Human Rights (NIHR)’s Committee on Public Rights and Freedoms has convened its 25th regular meeting at the NIHR headquarters in Seef district.
The Committee opened its agenda by reviewing and discussing the initial vision for the establishment of an international conference on environmental protection during the coming period, with the participation of a number of local and international experts from various specialties.
During the meeting, the Committee reviewed the recommendations contained in the concluding observations of the Commission on the Elimination of Discrimination against Women in the fourth report of the Kingdom of Bahrain on the CEDAW Convention. It also reviewed the letters received from the House of Representatives regarding “requesting the opinion of the NIHR regarding a number of draft laws regarding the amendment of some related articles, where they were studied and the Committee’s opinion was expressed in them”.
