Complaint, Monitoring & Follow-up Committee Holds Its Twelfth Meeting
02 Nov 2026

The Complaint, Monitoring & Follow-up Committee held its twelfth meeting, chaired by Dr. Hamad Ibrahim Alabdullah. During the meeting, the Committee reviewed 24 cases handled by the National Institution for Human Rights (NIHR) since its previous meeting. These included complaints received by NIHR, legal assistance provided to individuals, and cases monitored through media outlets and social media platforms, as part of its ongoing efforts to monitor the human rights situation, follow up on complaints, and strengthen protection and redress mechanisms.
During the meeting, the Committee examined the measures taken in relation to the cases presented and the progress made in following them up. It also reviewed the implementation of its previous decisions and recommendations, with a view to enhancing the effectiveness of complaint-handling, monitoring, and follow-up mechanisms and ensuring that cases are addressed in accordance with NIHR's mandate.
As part of NIHR's commitment to maintaining direct communication with individuals and listening to their concerns, Committee members met with several complainants to hear their requests and observations. These were documented to facilitate the necessary follow-up measures and coordination with the relevant authorities, reflecting NIHR's commitment to protecting human rights and strengthening access to effective remedies.
