NIHR’s Committee on Complaints, Monitoring and Follow-up convenes its 3rd Regular Meeting

The National Institution for Human Rights (NIHR)’s Committee on Complaints, Monitoring and Follow-up convened its 3rd regular meeting under the chairpersonship of Mrs. Dina Abdul-Rahman Al-Lazi and membership of Mrs. Rawda Salman Al-Aradi,

During the meeting, the Committee discussed the overall complaints recently received by the NIHR, where the concerned authorities were approached and interviews were sought with the Head of Committee in order to have a closer look at some cases to take appropriate actions thereon, in addition to receiving a number of requests for assistance, legal advice and insight into the procedures to be followed in various matters.

In addition, the panel reviewed the preliminary vision of the logistics work plan on the establishment of special complaint boxes in public places, which enhances the role of the NIHR in the protection of human rights in the Kingdom of Bahrain, as stipulated in its Establishment Law.

Meanwhile, the Committee reviewed a number of relevant issues in the human rights area and means of activating them through the cooperation with the parties that have signed memorandums of understanding with them aiming to consolidate and strengthen the principles of human rights within the framework of Bahrain’s commitment to the conventions, principles and charters regulating those rights.
