NIHR’s Committee on Complaints, Monitoring and Follow-up Holds its 17th Meeting

21 Nov 2022

The National institution for Human Rights (NIHR)’s Committee on Complaints, Monitoring and Follow-up has convened its 17th regular meeting at the NIHR’s headquarters in the Seef district under the chairpersonship of Mrs. Rawdha Al-Aradi and membership of Mr. Khaild Al-Sha’er and Mr. Ahmed Al-Saloom and the lawyer Deena Al-Ladhi.

The Committee opened its agenda by reviewing the statements related to the complaints received by the NIHR, the legal aids provided by it and the cases monitored by it through the media and social media since the last meeting, with (55) applications, which varied between complaints, legal aids and monitored cases during September, and discussed the actions taken thereon.

On the other hand, the Committee has met with a number of complainants and their relatives, whose issues varied between the right to practice religious rites, and the right to health care for inmates of reform and rehabilitation centres, where their complaints and observations were heard, and the concerned authorities will be contacted to find appropriate solutions for them, within the framework of the NIHR’s keenness to protect human rights.

The NIHR continues the provision of its services through personal attendance at the NIHR headquarters in Seef district, smartphone mobile application (NIHR Bahrain), NIHR website (www.nihr.org.bh) or the toll-free hotline (80001144).
