NIHR’s Committee on Complaints, Monitoring and Follow-up Holds its 18th Meeting

The National institution for Human Rights (NIHR)’s Committee on Complaints, Monitoring and Follow-up convened its 18th regular meeting, under the chairpersonship of Mrs. Rawdha Salman Al-Aradi and was attended by Committee members Mr. Khaled Abdulaziz Al-Sha’er, NIHR Vice-Chairman.

The Committee opened its agenda by reviewing the statements related to the complaints received by the NIHR, the legal aids provided by it and the cases monitored by it through the media and social media since the last meeting, with (105) applications, which varied between complaints, legal aids and monitored cases during December, and discussed the actions taken thereon. 

Within the framework of the concern for the protection of human rights, the NIHR Committee on Complaints, Monitoring and Follow-Up has met with a number of complainants and their relatives, whose issues varied between the right of inmate to receive treatment and health care, the improvement of living conditions in the correction and rehabilitation centres, the right to work and related rights for persons with disabilities, where the Committee studied the complaints and decided to follow them up with the concerned authorities, each according to its competence.
