NIHR’s Committee on Complaints, Monitoring and Follow-up Convenes its 15th Meeting

The National institution for Human Rights (NIHR)’s Committee on Complaints, Monitoring and Follow-up has convened its 15th regular meeting, under the chairpersonship of Mrs. Rawdha Al-Aradi and membership of Mr. Ahmad Subah Al-Saloom, at the NIHR’s headquarters in Seef district.

The Committee opened its agenda by reviewing the statements related to the complaints received by the NIHR, the legal aids provided by it and the cases monitored by it through the media and social media since the last meeting, with (179) applications, which varied between complaints, legal aids and monitored cases during September, and discussed the actions taken thereon.

During the meeting, the Committee received a complainant from the persons with disabilities, who submitted a request to consider the availability of rights and needs for this group, where the Committee stated the importance of this group enjoying all their rights guaranteed by the law.

On the other hand, the Committee praised the outcomes of the Joint Working Group meeting, headed by the NIHR, on the mechanisms for implementing alternative sanctions and measures, with representatives from the private sector, and what was agreed upon during the meeting, which contributes to the enjoyment of the beneficiaries of alternative

sanctions in obtaining appropriate training in preparation for their integration in the labour market, obtaining a suitable job and integrating them into the society.
