NIHR’s Committee on Complaints, Monitoring and Follow-up Convenes its 20th Regular Meeting

The National institution for Human Rights (NIHR)’s Committee on Complaints, Monitoring and Follow-up has convened its 20th regular meeting, under the chairpersonship of Mrs. Rawdha Salman Al-Aradi.
The Committee opened its agenda by reviewing the statements related to the complaints received by the NIHR during this month, the legal aids provided by it and the cases monitored by it through the media and social networking websites since the last meeting, with (149) applications, which varied between complaints, legal aids and monitored cases during December, and discussed the actions taken in each case.
On the other hand, the Committee decided to intensify its attendance of court hearings to follow-up on a number of cases being examined, in order to determine the existence of fair trial guarantees, within the framework of its keenness to protect human rights.
