Complaints, Monitoring and Follow-up Committee holds its third meeting

The NIHR’s Complaints, Monitoring and Follow-up Committee held its 3rd meeting on Monday, 29th June 2015 under the chairpersonship of Ms. Maria Khouri. The meeting was attended by Committee member Dr. Hameed Ahmed Hussein.
During the meeting, the Committee reviewed the report prepared on the NIHR's follow-up and attendance at some cases heard before the court, which are included in the competences thereof in order to ensure the court proceedings were in conformity with the international standards related to the right to a fair trial.
The Committee followed up with great interest some complaints regarding which no replies were received from some relevant authorities and presented some recommendations to the Council of Commissioners regarding the same; especially in relation to the recurrent complaints where no action has been taken to eliminate the reason thereof. The Committee examined the complaints and the requests for assistance received by the NIHR during the last short period and took many decisions regarding the same. The Committee set 27th July as date for its next meeting.
