NIHR’s Committee on Complaints, Monitoring and Follow-up Convenes its 5th and 6th Meetings Virtually

The National institution for Human Rights (NIHR)’s Committee on Complaints, Monitoring and Follow-up has convened its 5th and 6th virtual meetings under the chairpersonship of Mr. Khaled Al-Sha’er, NIHR Vice-Chairperson, and membership of Mrs. Rawdha Al-Aradi and Dr. Hooreya Hassan.

The Committee opened its meeting by reviewing its statements related to the complaints received by the NIHR, the legal aids provided by it and the cases monitored by it via the media and social media since the last meeting, where it dealt with (5) complaints, provided (56) legal aids, monitored (9) cases via the media and social media and received (159) calls via the NIHR toll-free hotline during the last two months, and discussed the actions taken thereupon.  The Committee also discussed its previous resolutions and recommendations and the actions taken thereupon, and reviewed the attendance of a number of court hearings by NIHR Secretariat-General representatives with a view to following up on the course of hearing procedures and ensuring the availability of fair trial guarantees.

On the other side, the Committee noted the application of alternative sanctions, which contributed to the further cohesion of the social fabric through the return of the beneficiaries of Alternative Sanctions Law to their families and their practice of their normal life.
