NIHR’s Committee on Complaints, Monitoring and Follow-up Convenes its 7th Meeting Virtually

The National institution for Human Rights (NIHR)’s Committee on Complaints, Monitoring and Follow-up has convened its 7th virtual meeting under the chairpersonship of Mr. Khaled Al-Sha’er, NIHR Vice-Chairperson, and membership of Mrs. Rawdha Al-Aradi, Mrs. Hala Fayez and Dr. Hooreya Hassan.

The Committee opened its meeting by reviewing its statements related to the complaints received by the NIHR, the legal aids provided by it and the cases monitored by it via the media and social media since the last meeting, where it dealt with (8) complaints, provided (14) legal aids, monitored (3) cases via the media and social media and received (80) calls via the NIHR toll-free hotline during the said period, and discussed the actions taken thereupon.

The Committee also discussed the course of its recent visit to the Pre-Trial Detention Centre to check the requests of young inmates, take their observations and ensure that they practice their rights, as well as its field visits to Al Buhair and Ma’ameer regions to review environmental and health problems therein and find out appropriate solutions to them with the relevant authorities.

compliance with the precautionary measures taken by the Kingdom of Bahrain to combat the spread of Covid-19, and the instructions and directives made by official authorities to limit the spread of the virus, in order to preserve the health of everyone, which is a basic human right.
