Complaints, Monitoring and Follow-up Committee holds its seventh ordinary meeting

The NIHR’s Complaints, Monitoring and Follow-up Committee held its seventh ordinary meeting under the chairpersonship of Ms. Maria Khouri. The meeting was attended by Committee member Dr. Hameed Ahmed Hussein.
During the meeting, the Committee reviewed all complaints and requests for assistance and legal advice received by the NIHR during the last period and the measures taken regarding the same. The complaints ranged from claims of failure to receive treatment or health care in detention centers to arrest without following the legal procedures, including the claim of depriving convicted individuals of enjoy their rights to education. The authorities concerned were contacted regarding the issues raised in this regard. In addition, the Committee received some requests for assistance, legal advice and scrutiny regarding the procedures that should be followed in various cases. On the other hand, the Committee reviewed the cases reported in the local newspapers and social media networks as well as the action taken regarding the same, especially communication with the authorities concerned. The Committee decided to hold its next meeting on 21st December 2015.
