Meeting

Chaired by Dr. Malallah Alhammadi, the Detention & Facilities Visitation Committee held its second regular meeting, during which it reviewed its previous resolutions and recommendations, in addition to discussing its future plans, as part of its ongoing commitment to protecting and promoting fundamental human rights and preserving the dignity of all individuals without discrimination.

During the meeting, the Committee reaffirmed its commitment to exercising its mandate as stipulated in the Law of the National Institution for Human Rights (NIHR), by conducting regular field visits, both announced and unannounced, to public and private facilities. These visits aim to monitor the conditions of inmates and beneficiaries of services and to assess their compliance with human rights standards. The Committee also reviewed its upcoming plan, which covers various detention places and service facilities, to verify living and care conditions and ensure that services are provided fairly, with dignity, and on an equal basis.
