NIHR’s Committee on Visiting Detention Places and Facilities Convenes its 16th Regular Meeting

The National Institution for Human Rights (NIHR)’s Committee on Visiting Detention Places and Facilities has continued its discussions about the field visits to be carried out in the near future to some institutions, healthcare facilities and detention centres as well as some educational institutions and workers’ accommodation places, within the framework of the Committee’s keenness to activate the NIHR’s oversight role, to verify that various rights and guarantees are made available to various patients, inmates, medical, educational, technical and administrative staff and labourers, while ensuring the continuity of such enjoyment of prescribed rights and services provided in accordance with the basic principles of human rights standards.
This occurred during the Committee’s 16th regular meeting, which was held at the NIHR’s headquarters in Seef district, under presidency of Dr. Malallah Al-Hammadi and membership of Mrs. Hala Fayez and Dr. Hooreya Abbas, where they reviewed the Committee’s previous resolutions and recommendations and the actions taken thereupon.
