Meeting

The Detention & Facilities Visitation Committee at the National Institution for Human Rights (NIHR) held its tenth regular meeting, chaired by Dr. Mal Allah Al-Hammadi. During the meeting, the Committee reviewed the findings and recommendations of previous field visit reports, discussed the measures taken in this regard, and adopted the appropriate decisions within the scope of its mandate.

The Committee also followed up on the field visits included in its plan for the current year and reviewed the progress made in this regard, as part of its role in verifying the extent to which individuals enjoy their legally guaranteed rights and promoting compliance with relevant human rights standards.

At the conclusion of the meeting, the Committee discussed the proposed plans and programmes for field and periodic visits for 2027 and 2028, with a view to enhancing the effectiveness of its work and achieving its oversight and preventive objectives in the protection and promotion of human rights.
