Detention & Facilities Visitation Committee convenes its 49th Meeting

Chaired by Dr. Mallallah Jaafar Al Hammadi, the Detention & Facilities Visitation Committee held its 49th regular meeting. The session commenced with a review of the findings and recommendations from previous visits, followed by the adoption of appropriate decisions.
During the meeting, the Committee discussed the outcomes of its unannounced visit to the Tamouh Center for Capacity Development, conducted to assess the services provided to individuals with autism. In this context, it was decided to carry out similar visits to other specialized centers to ensure that all persons with disabilities are enjoying their rights in accordance with national legislation and relevant international standards.
The Committee also reviewed the results of its field visit to the King Fahd Causeway Directorate, as part of its regular plan to monitor the Directorate's operations and to assess the extent to which detainees are afforded their rights guaranteed under national laws and applicable international standards.
