Detention & Facilities Visitation Committee Holds Its First Regular Meeting

Chaired by Dr. Malallah Jaffar Alhammadi, the Detention & Facilities Visitation Committee held its first regular meeting, which commenced with a review of previous recommendations and decisions and the measures taken in their regard.
As part of the Committee’s commitment to carrying out its mandate under the law establishing the National Institution for Human Rights (NIHR) particularly with respect to announced and unannounced field visits to monitor human rights conditions, the Committee continued discussing proposed field visit plans through the end of the current year.
