Economic, Social and Cultural Rights Committee Holds its 16th Regular Meeting

The NIHR's Economic, Social and Cultural Rights Committee held its sixteenth regular meeting On Thursday, 19th June 2014 headed by H.E. Dr. Mai Suleiman Al Otaibi. The meeting was held at the NIHR's headquarters in the Seef District and was attended by Committee Members HE. Dr. Fawzeya Saed Al Saleh and HE. Dr. Badr Mohammed Adel.
During the meeting, the Committee was briefed on what actions were taken regarding some of the decisions and recommendations made during its previous meetings. The Committee reviewed the initial perception prepared by the Secretariat-General about the proposal presented by HE. Dr. Fawzeya Saeed Al Saleh on organizing educational activities concerned with the right to a healthy environment and the Committee decided to make some amendments thereto in preparation for approval thereof.
The Committee concluded its discussions of the final observations made by the Committee on the Elimination of Discrimination against Women (CEDAW) and the competent authorities expected to act on such observations . The Committee arrived at some concluding observations and decided to continue the remaining discussions about the same issue in its next meeting.
