NIHR's Committee on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights Holds its 1st Regular Meeting

The National Institution for Human Rights' (NIHR) Committee on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights held its 1st regular meeting under the chairpersonship of Mr. Farid Ghazi. The meeting was held at the NIHR's headquarters in the Seef District and attended by Committee Members Dr. Abdulrrahman Jawaheri and Dr. Jameela Al-Sammak
The Committee reviewed the terms of reference assigned to it by virtue of the Executive Regulation on NIHR’s organization and course of business. It further discussed recent achievements of the Committee, including a proposal on amendment of some national legislations on the organization of labor unions in Bahrain as well as multiple proposals revolving around holding workshops and events concerned with economic, social and cultural rights. The Committee will convene its next meeting on Thursday 21 May, 2015.
