NIHR’s Committee on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights convenes its 3rd Regular Meeting

The National Institution for Human Rights (NIHR)’s Committee on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights convened its 3rdregular meeting, under the chairpersonship of Ms. Maria Khouri. The meeting was held at the NIHR’s headquarters in Seef district and attended by Committee members Dr. Aisha Salem Mubarak.
At the beginning of the meeting, the Committee discussed a proposal on holding a dialogue session between the families of persons with disabilities and stakeholders in the ministries and concerned bodies, with the aim to identify the reality of the rights of persons with disabilities in the Kingdom of Bahrain, discuss legislative gaps, if any, and work to improve this group’s access to their rights in line with the provisions of international covenants and instruments.
