Detention & Facilities Visitation Committee Holds Its Ninth Regular Meeting

The Detention & Facilities Visitation Committee of the National Institution for Human Rights (NIHR), chaired by Ms. Mona George Koro, held its ninth regular meeting. The Committee began by reviewing the findings and recommendations of previous field visit reports, following up on the actions taken in this regard, and adopting the appropriate decisions in accordance with its mandate.
During the meeting, the Committee discussed its field visit programme for the remainder of the year, which includes a number of entities and facilities falling within the Institution’s mandate. These visits aim to assess conditions and the services provided, and to verify the extent to which individuals enjoy the rights guaranteed to them under the relevant laws and regulations.
