NIHR Receives Trainee Students from the General Directorate of Traffic
The National Institution for Human Rights (NIHR) received a group of trainee students from the General Directorate of Traffic as part of an exploratory visit aimed at learning about the nature of the NIHR’s work and its key functions in promoting and protecting human rights in the Kingdom of Bahrain.
During the visit, an introductory lecture was organized under the title “The Role of the National Institution for Human Rights in the Promotion and Protection of Human Rights.” The lecture included an overview of the NIHR’s establishment, its mandates, and its role in promoting and fostering a culture of human rights within Bahraini society. It also addressed the alignment of national legislation — particularly the Bahraini Traffic Law — with international human rights standards and principles, in addition to highlighting the NIHR’s efforts in monitoring and following up on human rights situations, and handling complaints and observations received from individuals.
