NIHR Inaugurates the Human Rights Training Program for Civil Society Organizations

Today marks the beginning of the first session of the Human Rights Training Program for civil society organizations organized by the National Institution for Human Rights (NIHR), proceeding from its role in the dissemination and enhancement of the culture of human rights among different society groups, in cooperation with Embassy of Netherlands, entitled:  “the International and Regional Mechanisms for Enhancement and Protection of Human Rights”, presented by International Human Rights Expert and Advisor to the President of the National Human Rights Committee in Qatar Dr. Btaher Bu-Jalal.

The training program aims to enhance and develop the capacities of civil society organizations in the human rights area, familiarize them with the international human rights standards relevant to their work, raise the capabilities of their staff in human rights monitoring, documenting and reporting and develop their skills in how to deal with international and national mechanisms for the protection of human rights.

On this occasion, His Excellency NIHR Chairperson Dr. Abdul-Aziz Hassan Abul stressed that the inauguration of this program, in cooperation with Embassy of Netherlands, comes in implementation of the NIHR’s strategy and action plan based upon its role towards civil society organizations that are considered as fundamental partners in the human rights area, in order to achieve the common goals in this area, parsing the keenness of such human rights institutions in the Kingdom of Bahrain to participate in the training programs carried out by the NIHR to enable them to perform their roles and achieve their goals.
