NIHR participates in a Human Rights Training Program in the Kingdom of Thailand

15 Jun 2017

The National Institution for Human Rights (NIHR), represented by Mrs. Shaikha Al-Aliwi, Legal Researcher at NIHR Legal Affairs and Training Department, participated in a training program on human rights and business that was organized by Asia and Pacific Forum (APF) in cooperation with the Danish Institute for Human Rights in Bangkok, capital of Thailand, as part of the strategy of the NIHR for the development and training of all its employees.

The training program was attended by representatives of the national human rights institutions in the Asian region, as well as a number of international human rights and business experts, during which a number of specialized working papers were presented.

It is worth mentioning that the training program goes through three stages.  The first stage includes distance learning, which is mediated by weekly exams.  Those who pass through such exams are entitled to participate in the second stage, which requires attending the training program in Thailand.  The third and final stage requires preparation of a project on human rights and business to be approved by the Asia and Pacific Forum (APF) in preparation for its implementation in cooperation with the national human rights institutions.
