NIHR Organizes Second Lecture in Human Rights Training Program for Members of the NIA

As part of the ongoing cooperation between the National Institution for Human Rights (NIHR) and the Office of the Inspector General at the National Intelligence Service, NIHR held the second lecture of the human rights training program designed for the Service’s personnel, at its headquarters in the Al-Seef District.
The lecture was inaugurated by His Excellency Sheikh Sabah bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Secretary-General of the Constitutional Court, who delivered an introductory overview of the Court, its mandate, and its operational mechanisms. He emphasized the pivotal role of the Court in safeguarding constitutional provisions and ensuring the conformity of laws and legislation with the Constitution.
Titled “Rights and Freedoms within the Scope of the Constitutional Court’s Jurisdiction,” the lecture was delivered by Mr. Ahmed Habib Al-Aali, Head of the Case Registration Department at the Constitutional Court. He addressed key constitutional guarantees related to human rights and the mechanisms for reviewing constitutional claims.
This lecture is part of the NIHR’s broader strategy to enhance human rights awareness among employees across various state institutions, contributing to the promotion and consolidation of human rights principles within institutional work environments.
