NIHR Receives a Group of Students from the French School

20 Apr 2025

As part of its ongoing efforts to promote and strengthen a culture of human rights, the National Institution for Human Rights (NIHR) organized an introductory lecture for a group of high school students from the French School, titled “The Role of the National Institution for Human Rights and the Key Mandates of the Child Rights Commissioner.”

The lecture was delivered by Dr. Hooreya Aldiri, the Child Rights Commissioner, who introduced the NIHR and outlined its core functions in the areas of monitoring, receiving complaints, and raising awareness. She also highlighted the role of the Child Rights Commissioner in protecting and promoting the rights of children in the Kingdom of Bahrain.

The session featured an interactive discussion, during which students had the opportunity to ask questions and express their views on issues related to childhood and human rights. This engagement contributed to raising their awareness and fostering a sense of social responsibility.

This initiative forms part of the NIHR’s outreach program with educational institutions, aiming to instill human rights values among children and youth, in line with its mandate in the areas of education and awareness, as stipulated by its established law.
