NIHR Organizes an Awareness Lecture for Law Students at Applied Science University
The National Institution for Human Rights (NIHR) organized an awareness lecture for a group of Law students from Applied Science University, held at the Institution’s headquarters in Seef District.
The lecture was delivered by Dr. Shaima Abdulla Mohammed, Member of the Council of Commissioners, who highlighted the role undertaken by the NIHR in promoting and protecting human rights in the Kingdom of Bahrain, as well as its working mechanisms in accordance with the Paris Principles governing the work of independent national human rights institutions.
The lecture also covered several key themes related to the NIHR’s work, including its vision and mission in promoting a culture of human rights, its cooperation frameworks at the national, regional, and international levels, and its mandates as stipulated by the Paris Principles. It further outlined the target groups of the NIHR’s activities, the digital services available through its mobile application, and its role in monitoring fair trial guarantees.
This lecture comes as part of the NIHR’s ongoing cooperation with universities and higher education institutions, aimed at supporting academic programs, enhancing human rights awareness among students, and reinforcing the principles of human rights within the academic environment.
