NIHR Organises a lecture on Commissioner of the Rights of the Child in the Presence of the Commander of the Royal Police Academy
In the presence of Brigadier Fawaz Al-Hassan, Commander of the Royal Police Academy, Chairman of the Policy Unification Committee at the Family and Child Protection Offices in the Security Directorates, the National Institution for Human Rights (NIHR) organised an introductory lecture on "The Role and Competencies of the Commissioner of the Rights of the Child ", presented by D. Houria Hassan, Commissioner of the Rights of the Child, in which she dealt with the most significant specialisations of the Commissioner of the Rights of the Child and her role in the field of strengthening and protecting the rights of children in the Kingdom in cooperation with various national mechanisms, in addition to the concepts related to human rights and the rights of children in international and national covenants and agreements, in the context of achieving more progress regarding issues related to children and young people.
Captain Reem Flaifal, member of the Policy Unification Committee at Family and Child Protection Offices in the Security Directorates, also presented a summary of the methodology of the work of family and children's protection offices in the security directorates in light of Child Reformist Justice Law and their protection from ill-treatment, and the efforts made by the Ministry of Interior in the field of family and child protection.
This event, in which the Chairman and members of the NIHR Council of Commissioners a number of officers working in family and child protection offices in the security directorates participated, falls within the continued close cooperation between the NIHR and the Royal Police Academy, and within the framework of the NIHR strategy and plan for the spread of awareness of the principles and foundations of human rights.
