مفوض حقوق الطفل تلتقي بمجموعة الخبراء المتطوعين وأصدقاء المفوض

Dr. Maha Saleh Al Shehab, Child Rights Commissioner at the National Institution for Human Rights (NIHR), held a meeting with a group of volunteer experts and Friends of the Commissioner to discuss ways to enhance their role in supporting childhood issues in the Kingdom of Bahrain.

During the meeting, Dr. Al Shehab emphasized the importance of strengthening direct communication with the NIHR and continuously updating the lists of Friends and experts. She stressed the need to train members through specialized workshops organized by the NIHR’s Training and Education Department, which contribute to raising awareness of child rights. She also praised the role of the members as being the voice of children in their surroundings, urging them to continue presenting constructive ideas and innovative initiatives.

The members, in response, shared some of their key ideas and past experiences, affirming their readiness to strengthen partnership with the Commissioner. An agreement was reached on several practical steps, including creating a coordination group, organizing school events to mark the International Day of the Girl Child, and preparing for a community event in one of the shopping malls.
