Launch of the Human Rights Legal Clinic Program at the NIHR

05 Oct 2025

The National Institution for Human Rights (NIHR), in cooperation with the College of Law at the University of Bahrain, has launched the first lecture of the Human Rights Legal Clinic Program, with the participation of 11 students.

The lecture included an introduction to the program’s main themes, a presentation of an introductory video about the NIHR, and a lecture on fundamental rights and freedoms enshrined in the Constitution of the Kingdom of Bahrain.

This marks the 25th batch of the program since its inception, during which the NIHR has trained more than 270 students. The program continues throughout the first academic semester (2025–2026), from September to December 2025, and includes over 15 lectures covering various topics such as report preparation and monitoring, drafting legal opinions, and organizing human rights-related activities. The program is delivered by a number of specialists in legal and human rights affairs, with the aim of enhancing students’ knowledge of human rights principles and protection mechanisms, and developing their legal and research skills in this field.
