NIHR held a press conference about the Arab Court of Human Rights

The Secretary-General of the NIHR, HE  Dr Ahmad Abdullah Farhan stated that the idea of establishing an Arab Court of Human Rights was a royal initiative from His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, King of Bahrain which was presented to the Ministerial Council of the Arab League and approved unanimously.

In  a press conference about the International Conference for the Arab Court of Human Rights which was hosted by the Kingdom on 25 and May 26, 2014, HE the Secretary General said: "The Conference is concerned on the formulation of opinion, exchange of experiences, and discuss the statute."

For his part, the NIHR Vice Chairperson, Head of the complaints, monitoring and follow-up committee, HE Abdullah Alderazi  affirmed that a conference held in Egypt had discussed issues of national sovereignty and the possibility of amending the Arab Charter on Human Rights to put a special provision for establishing the Arab Court for Human Rights.
