03 Aug 2025

The National Institution for Human Rights (NIHR) has launched the thirteenth edition of the Human Rights Fellowship Program. The program targets academics, university students, human rights defenders, and individuals interested in conducting independent research in the field of human rights.

First introduced in 2019, the program aims to strengthen critical thinking and analytical skills in addressing human rights issues, while also developing participants' capacities for innovation and creativity to devise effective solutions for protecting fundamental rights and freedoms.

The program offers a comprehensive training curriculum that integrates both theoretical and practical components, enhancing participants’ understanding of national and international human rights legislation. It includes a series of specialized lectures on scientific research, field visits to various institutions, and an overview of the NIHR’s mandates in the areas of protection and promotion.

This program is part of the NIHR’s ongoing efforts to promote and strengthen the culture of human rights in the Kingdom of Bahrain and to expand community partnership in this field. Since its inception, more than 200 participants from various disciplines and institutions have taken part in the program.
