A delegation from the Council of Commissioners of the National Institution for Human Rights (NIHR) conducted field visits to a number of service facilities in the Kingdom of Bahrain following the Iranian attacks that targeted civilian sites. The visits aimed to review the conditions of those affected and assess the level of medical and humanitarian services provided to them.

The visits included the Salmaniya Medical Complex, where the delegation reviewed the mechanisms for handling the cases received and the level of healthcare and treatment services provided to the injured. The delegation also received a briefing from officials on the medical procedures in place, the level of medical preparedness and response, as well as the efforts made by medical staff to ensure the continued provision of care in accordance with approved professional and humanitarian standards.

The delegation also visited shelters designated for those affected in Budaiya and Dar Alkarama in Hamad Town, which are affiliated with the Ministry of Social Development. During the visit, the delegation followed up on the conditions of residents and the level of services provided to them, including accommodation services, healthcare, humanitarian support, and food services, in addition to the measures taken to address the needs of the most vulnerable groups, particularly children, the elderly, and persons with special health conditions.

The National Institution for Human Rights (NIHR) affirmed that these visits fall within the framework of its national role in monitoring and follow-up, and reflect its commitment to conducting field assessments of the conditions of those affected and ensuring that essential services are provided to them in a manner that preserves human dignity and strengthens the protection of human rights, particularly during exceptional circumstances and crises.
