NIHR Receives Chief of Mission of the International Organisation for Migration (IOM) to Bahrain

Eng. Ali Ahmad Alderazi, Chairperson of the National Institution for Human Rights (NIHR), welcomed Aishath Ihma Shareef, Chief of Mission of the International Organisation for Migration (IOM) to Bahrain. He congratulated her on her appointment and wished her success in her new role, praising the ongoing cooperation between NIHR and the IOM. He emphasized the importance of this relationship in achieving shared goals related to human rights in a safe and sustainable work environment.

During the meeting, the two sides discussed prospects for joint cooperation on enhancing the protection of migrant workers and improving their working conditions. They also explored ways to develop training and awareness programs for them.

Ms. Shareef expressed her appreciation for the humanitarian role the NIHR plays in enhancing and protecting human rights. She commended the efforts of the Kingdom of Bahrain in fostering international cooperation and combating human trafficking, reflecting a clear vision for achieving sustainable development and protecting workers' rights.
