NIHR Participates in the Opening of the Training Program on Building National Capacities in Investigation and Documentation in Accordance with the Istanbul Protocol
Eng. Ali Ahmed Alderazi, Chairperson of the National Institution for Human Rights (NIHR), together with a number of members of the Board of Commissioners, participated in the opening of the specialized training program organized by the Special Investigation Unit (SIU) under the title “Building National Capacities in Investigation and Documentation in Accordance with the Istanbul Protocol.” The program was inaugurated by His Excellency Dr. Ali bin Fadhel Al Buainain, Attorney General, this morning at the Judicial and Legal Studies Institute, in the presence of a number of ministers, representatives of relevant national authorities, civil society organizations, and specialists from the healthcare sector.
The three-day program aims to deepen legal and practical understanding of relevant international standards, build professional capacities in the fields of investigation and documentation, and strengthen coordination among various national entities. It also seeks to support preventive measures and legal safeguards, while enhancing the quality of investigations and related technical specializations.
The Institution’s participation reflects its commitment to supporting national efforts aimed at strengthening the human rights protection framework, promoting the principles of justice and the rule of law, and advancing national capacities in the fields of investigation and documentation in line with relevant international standards.
