National Institution participates in the Diplomacy in the Service of Humanity Forum

The Secretariat- General of the National Institution for Human Rights participated in the forum organized by the Organization of Arab Red Crescent and Red Cross in cooperation with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Bahrain Red Crescent Society in the Kingdom of Bahrain in the field of humanitarian diplomacy under the title of "Diplomacy in the Service of Humanity." during the period November 24 to 25 in Manama - Kingdom of Bahrain.

The meeting was the first of its kind in the Arab region, where it discussed one of the most important topics in the corridors of the International Red Cross and Red Crescent, where the practical program included six sessions, addressed the humanitarian diplomacy concept,  humanitarian work in the context of a turbulent environment, the problem of interference between the right and the duty in humanitarian crises, the importance of coordination in humanitarian crises,  the challenges of humanitarian work in the Arab region, and the prospects for the diplomatic and humanitarian work.

The forum was concluded with a package of recommendations, most notably of which was the invitation of the International Movement of the Red Cross and the Red Crescent Societies to make the humanitarian diplomacy permanent mechanism within the international movement politics and to spread it in the conflict and situations of violence areas, call upon the Arab Organization for the formation of a special team to follow up on the results of this forum,  invite national associations to participate by make recommendations to the relevant government agencies, and to emphasize the importance of the participation of members of parliament and Shura councils and Ministries of Foreign Affairs and other relevant sectors.
