NIHR presents a Lecture on “Human Rights and Sustainable Development”

The Chairperson of the National Institution for Human Rights (NIHR), Ms. Maria Khoury, presented a lecture entitled “Human Rights and Sustainable Development” at the Judicial and Legal Studies Institute, within the 4th package of the series of lectures of “My Rights 2” program organized by the NIHR, in partnership with the Supreme Council for Women, Bahrain Institute for Political Development and Judicial and Legal Studies Institute, from April to December 2018.



The lecture dealt with the concept of sustainable development and its 17 goals and the role of the NIHR in following-up the implementation of Sustainable Development Goals, made practical applications to introduce Sustainable Development Goals and their related instruments and laws and reviewed national mechanisms that contribute to the promotion and respect for human rights in the Kingdom of Bahrain.

This lecture was the conclusion of the 4th package of “My Rights 2” program, which was attended by a number of staff of the ministries and government institutions as well as members of civil society organizations.
