National Institution for Human Rights receives

HE Abdullah Alderazi,  the NIHR's  Deputy Chairperson, received a delegation from the British Foreign Office, headed by Ms. Fiona Salem with the aim of assessing the training programs and courses offered by the British Embassy in the field of human rights.

During the meeting, the NIHR's Deputy Chairperson welcomed the delegation, and presented a summary of the role played by the Institution in the dissemination, promotion and protection of human rights, stressing the importance of strengthening cooperation between the two sides in capacity building through the provision of training programs which support the work of the NIHR in the field of human rights.

The Deputy Chairperson provided explanations to the various questions and inquiries raised by members of the visiting delegation, assuring them that the NIHR always strives towards development so as to enhance its human rights mission under the leadership of His Excellency Dr. Abdulaziz Abul, the NIHR's Chairperson.

For her part,  Ms. Fiona Salem, head of the visiting delegation thanked the NIHR for the warm reception and expressed full readiness to provide all the support needed to enable the  NIHR to achieve its objectives and competencies, as well as  promoting joint cooperation in the areas of promotion, protection and development of human rights in Bahrain.

The meeting was attended by Counselor-at-Law Yasser Shaheen, NIHR's Acting Secretary-General, Mr. Fahd Al-Mualla, Director of Information and Communication Technology, and representatives of the British Embassy.
