The National Institution for Human Rights participates in the Careers Day organized by the Gulf University

The National Institution for Human Rights participated in the Careers Day Exhibition organized by the Gulf University under the patronage of His Excellency Mr. Jamil bin Muhammad Humaidan, Minister of Labour and Social Development, via videoconference, in order to activate the memorandum of understanding concluded between the NIHR and the Gulf University.

During her speech at the exhibition in which more than 35 governmental and private institutions participated, Ms. Maria Khoury, Chairperson of the National Institute for Human Rights, noted that such exhibitions are among the most important means that familiarize students with the requirements of the labour market, and they also contribute to achieving harmonization between university output and labour market needs in various specific fields and specializations,

 stressing at the same time that the NIHR is working to provide specialized training in the field of human rights to students and continuously spread the culture of human rights among the various segments of society.

 

On the side-lines of the exhibition, Ms. Khoury held a meeting via videoconference with Dr. Muhannad Al-Mashhadani, President of the Gulf University. The meeting was also attended by Ms. Latifa Al-Jalahma, Director of the Legal Affairs and Training Department at the NIHR. During the meeting, a number of issues related to human rights were discussed, in addition to the mechanism for promoting and disseminating the culture of human rights among the academic community through training and educational programs provided by the NIHR in partnership with civil society organizations and academic institutions.
