NIHR and its Russian Counterpart Discuss Enhancing Cooperation
As part of efforts to strengthen international cooperation in the field of human rights, Eng. Ali Ahmed Alderazi, Chairperson of the National Institution for Human Rights (NIHR), met with Professor Tatiana Moskalkova, High Commissioner for Human Rights in the Russian Federation, during an official visit to the Russian capital, Moscow.
The meeting included an exchange of expertise and best practices in the protection and promotion of human rights. Discussions also addressed several issues of mutual interest concerning the citizens of both countries and explored avenues for enhancing bilateral cooperation between the two national human rights institutions — particularly in the areas of training, capacity building, and information exchange — with the aim of improving the effectiveness of these institutions in safeguarding fundamental rights and freedoms.
At the conclusion of the meeting, Professor Moskalkova extended an official invitation to Eng. Alderazi to participate in the International Scientific and Practical Conference on the Challenges of Human Rights Protection in the Eurasian Region, scheduled to take place in Moscow this coming October.
