Crown Prince receives NIHR Delegation

His Royal Highness, the Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister, Prince Salman Bin Hamad Al Khalifa received a delegation from the National Institutions of Human Rights, which presented to him the NIHR’s Second Annual Report for 2014.

Receiving the delegation, the Crown Prince said Bahrain, under the auspices of a Royal Decree, had given great emphasis to the matters of human rights at various levels, and continued to support the consolidation of human rights values within the framework of the National Action Charter and the Constitution. He said the trend represented a milestone in the further progress of the reform project led by His Majesty, King Hamad.

The Crown Prince praised the NIHR’s contribution to enhancing Bahrain’s position in the field of human rights.

He reviewed the salient features of the report and acknowledged its accordance with international standards, notably the Paris Principles, which promotes the integration of efforts and the dealing of various aspects regarding human rights.

He pointed out that the NIHR interacts with all concerned authorities, internally and externally, and stressed that continued support and cooperation would enhance the role of the organization and help it achieve its goals of continuing to build on the achievements of Bahrain.

NIHR Chairman, Dr Abdulaziz Abul praised the support of Bahrain’s leadership to the work of the NIHR and said it had resulted in continuous constructive communication, considering it an incentive to make continue its efforts and constructive cooperation in achieving its goals.
