NIHR Chief receives British Ambassador

National Institutions of Human Rights Chairman, His Excellency Dr. Abdul Aziz Hassan Abul, received British Ambassador to Bahrain, Ambassador Simon Martin at its headquarters in Seef District.

Dr. Abul thanked the Ambassador for the visit and expressed the NIHR’s desire for cooperation between the two parties, especially in the area of transfer of expertise and the setting up of workshops to promote and protect human rights.

The Ambassador thanked the NIHR for its role in society, which aimed to promote human rights, and expressed his readiness to provide all the support to the NIHR to achieve its objectives and terms of reference.

The meeting was attended by NIHR Vice President Abdullah Alderazi, its Complaints, Monitoring and Follow-up Committee Chairperson Maria Khoury, Adviser Yasser Ghanem Shaheen and, Assistant Secretary-General Soni Ahmad, who is also responsible for programmes at the British Embassy.
