NIHR organizes an International Forum on Human Rights and Business

The National Institution for Human Rights (NIHR) organizes an International Forum on Human Rights and Business in February, which will address a number of themes contained in the United Nations Guidelines for Human Rights and Business Administration, in addition to holding three interactive workshops on the subject.

Dr. Khalifa bin Ali Al-Fadel, Secretary-General of the NIHR and Chairman of the Organizing Committee of the Forum, said that the main objective of holding this International Forum is the NIHR’s contribution to enriching international human rights thought, stressing that the themes to be covered will address intellectual property rights in relation to medicine, workers’ rights, corporate and businessmen responsibility and the right to privacy with regard to information cyberspace.

Dr. Al-Fadel also pointed out that the conference will feature a number of academics and human rights specialists  as well as representatives of national human rights institutions in the Asia-Pacific region, stating that it is the first of its kind in the Kingdom of Bahrain and will be part of the green policy pursued by the NIHR as it will be paperless for the conservation of the environment.
